There are lots of display options for the

The Passage Lookup panel has many display options to choose from:

  • Interleaved: Shows a number of different versions, grouping the versions verse by verse.
  • Interleaved with comparison: Same as above, but highlights the textual differences between words (only works for tagged Bibles written in the same language)
  • Column view: Shows each version in its own column. Each row represents one verse.
  • Column with comparison: Same as above, but highlight the textual differences.
  • Interlinear1 (and reverse interlinear): An interlinear is a way of aligning words and phrases in columns such that one can see the links between words as they are translated in different languages. This feature is only supported by a few Bibles.

These options only show if they are applicable. The Interlinear display is only available for tagged Bibles marked with a letter "I" or "S" in the version menu. If a non-tagged text is selected the interlinear option will not appear in the display options (will be shown as) menu. The 'Interleaved with comparison' and 'Column with Comparison' options only show when all selected texts are of the same language.

Several of the biblical language tools are display options in the Passage Lookup panel:

1Interlinear display is only available for tagged Bibles marked with a letter "I" or "S" in the version menu. If a non-tagged text is selected the interlinear option will not appear in the display options (will be shown as) menu.

  • The "S" (for Septuagint) indicates it is tagged for he Greek O.T.
  • The "I" (for Interlinear) indicates it has the more widely used tagging for the Hebrew OT and Greek NT
